Getting There
The usual route begins at San Jorge port near Rivas. Ferries and passenger boats cross to Moyogalpa and San José del Sur. Schedules change with weather and lake operations, so confirm them the day before.
- From Managua or Granada: Travel by road to Rivas, then continue by taxi or local bus to San Jorge.
- With a vehicle: Some ferries carry cars and motorcycles, but spaces are limited and reservations are wise.
- On the island: Buses, taxis, motorcycles and bicycles are available. Distances look short, but travel can be slow.
